Colin Hippey ATT - Managing partner
Has a wealth of knowledge in the area of tax due to past experience and a passion for accuracy.
He began working at HM Revenue and customs and qualified to the highest level in tax. He has been involved in cases of serious tax fraud and prosecutions and was involved in policy and procedure.
Also worked at Price Waterhouse Coopers in Leeds where he was the director of tax, then headed up the new tax investigations department at Wilson Braithwaite and Scholey.
With his experience and vision he decided to buy the financial practice formally known as Colne Valley Financial centre, to be able to launch The Mason Hippey partnership in 2004.
Colin's goal is to maximise profits for individuals by minimising the tax liabilities for their business and personal accounts. He works so closely within the guidelines that he is fully confident in what he can and can't do in both Tax and Vat.
Mike Farrell – Business Consultant
Mike was a bank manager for 23 years, which has given him a wealth of knowledge and experience of banking, working with new business’, and start up companies to name but a few.
He started being self employed in 1998 as a business consultant, he also prepared business accounts. When he met Colin they struck up a professional friendship and he started doing work for Mason Hippey in 2005.
He commented that "The Mason Hippey practice gives modern thinking to a traditional job, they are the practical experts in TAX and VAT and this depth of knowledge will undoubtedly save people money" He also said that "Colin's passion for his profession is admirable, he takes in the new rules and regulations instantly and is not often proved wrong with his specialist subject"
He also enjoys learning the new computer packages, as it is essential to keep up with modern technology.
Joanne Kupse's - Account Manager
Originally trained to be an air hostess until a flight to Australia put paid to that vocation!
She has been working as a bookkeeper since 1992 working for SMP ltd until 2001; she then took over as Company director so nearly 17 years of experience. Been working for the Mason Hippey Partnership since Jan 07. She enjoys this aspect of work very much as loves customer contact and making sure where possible that clients are happy with the service that is provided.
As an individual away from work Jo would pride myself on her personality, caring for others, love to socialise, outgoing and very family orientated with her 2 daughters being her main focus in life.
The practice is unique In her opinion because Colin and his staff pride themselves on good customer relations, always aiming to deliver an excellent standard of work and customer service.
To be able to offer a complete specialised service from point of initial contact right through to completion of work carried out. She said "Our clients are fortunate to have a very specialised service with Colin being extremely qualified in his field"
Jayne Sympson - Account Manager - Member of institute of certified book keepers.
Worked for First Direct for 7 years in many different departments so gained lots of experience in all areas.
Looks after major accounts, covers reception, keeps all the client files up to date deals with all the practice admin and keeps accounts up to trial balance.
